The Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB) is the entity within government charged with the task of accelerating growth in the IT and IT enabled Services industry. PSEB develops creative synergies between the government, industry and academia. It achieves this by providing timely and relevant policy input and by supporting the IT industry in order to sustain momentum in this vital sector of the national economy.
PSEB introduces a project “The Automation of Domestic Industry on Open Source Systems” for SME units of Pakistani Industrial sectors. Pakistan Association of Automotive Parts & Accessories Manufacturers (PAAPAM) is one the SME unit that is automated under this project.
The vision behind the project was to develop and deploy open source automated software in interested SME level units of PAAPAM. It would improve and accelerate the current performance of the PAAPAM units. By implementing this project, the ready availability of purpose-built shareware will curb the use of pirated software; and make automation affordable, especially for SMEs.

The system is developed in Open Source Technologies and is implemented at 15 interested member units of PAAPAM.
